Description
Introduction
The new Syvecs GPSBT is the evolution of our trusted 100 Hz GPS/IMU Module, now enhanced with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity and a host of new features to improve usability and expand compatibility.
Still built around a 100 Hz high-speed GPS receiver and 6-axis IMU for ultra-precise speed, position, and motion data, the GPSBT adds powerful communication and control upgrades. It now includes both CAN and CAN FD interfaces, four digital inputs, four lowside outputs, OBD2 and BLE support to connect directly to smartphones, tablets, or vehicle infotainment systems.
Paired with the Syvecs Dash app, GPSBT unlocks real-time telemetry, lap timing, track mapping, and custom dashboards—ideal for motorsport, performance tuning, and live vehicle monitoring. Backward compatible and built to withstand demanding environments, GPSBT sets a new standard for onboard data capture and connectivity.

Syvecs GPSBT – Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a Syvecs ECU to run?
Not at all. The module is designed to work with any car equipped with an OBD2 port from 2004 onwards. For earlier vehicles, it can also be connected to any aftermarket ECU, such as the Syvecs GPSBT/BTIMU module.
Does it need a screen?
No screen is required. The module uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication to pair with any iOS or Android device — from your mobile phone to compatible car stereo systems.
Does it need certain software?
The module is fully configurable via the Syvecs Dash App, available on the App Store and Google Play. You can also connect directly to the hardware using Syvecs Scal software, but this is only necessary for advanced configuration such as adjusting CAN speed.
Is there an app you’d recommend?
It works exclusively with the Syvecs Dash App.
What age of car will this work on?
For vehicles fitted with an aftermarket ECU such as Syvecs, MoTeC, or LinkECU, it will work on any age of car. If you’re using OBD2 communication, compatibility starts from 2004 onwards.
Is it compatible with all smartphones?
Yes, it’s compatible with all modern iOS and Android devices.
Does it need a dedicated power supply?
Yes. The unit requires a 12V and ground connection, which can be taken from the OBD2 connector or the vehicle’s engine computer.
Does it come with a mount?
The enclosure is designed for easy and secure mounting in any location.
Can I make irreversible changes to my car?
No. The module is completely non-invasive and does not alter or interfere with any factory systems on your vehicle.
What exactly is the GPSBT?
The GPSBT is a compact telemetry and sensor module combining a 100 Hz GPS receiver with a 6-axis IMU, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), CAN / CAN-FD interfaces, digital I/O, and support for OBD-II.
What are its key features?
-
Dual CAN + CAN-FD support for modern ECU connectivity
-
Four digital inputs and four low-side outputs for external triggers, lap switches, indicators, etc.
-
Ability to import DBC files for integration with any ECU (Syvecs, MoTeC, Link, Pectel, etc.)
-
OBD-II support for reading live data and clearing fault codes
-
USB-C for configuration and firmware updates
-
Rugged aluminium housing, waterproof design, 6–26 V input range
What environmental or power requirements does it have?
-
Input supply: 6 V–26 V (ignition-switched)
-
Size: 70 × 90 × 25 mm
-
Built in a CNC-machined anodised aluminium enclosure with waterproof protection for motorsport and off-road environments.
Can it transmit data back to the ECU?
Yes. The GPSBT supports CAN TX modes, allowing you to send custom messages or emulate sensor outputs back to the ECU.
Can it log data onboard?
Yes. The device can log internal GPS/IMU data and mapped CAN channels. Logs can be stored on your mobile device via the app or exported in CSV or Syvecs SView format for analysis.
Does it support live video overlay or track mapping?
Yes. The Syvecs Dash App allows live video overlay with real-time data (speed, G-force, RPM, etc.). It also includes automatic track detection, lap timing, and sector mapping features.
Do I need to calibrate the IMU or GPS sensors?
No calibration is required for normal operation — the GPSBT is factory-calibrated. However, advanced users can fine-tune orientation or sensor alignment within the app if desired.
Which ECUs is it compatible with?
It integrates seamlessly via CAN with leading ECU systems such as Syvecs, MoTeC, Pectel, Link, and others using custom DBC mapping.
What are the update rates?
The GPS operates at 100 Hz, providing extremely accurate position and motion data. CAN and OBD telemetry update rates depend on the vehicle’s CAN bus configuration.
Is it suitable for motorsport use?
Absolutely. The GPSBT was designed for track and motorsport environments, with waterproofing, vibration resistance, high sampling rates, and real-time telemetry support.
Does it affect vehicle warranties or factory systems?
No. The GPSBT is a non-invasive module and does not modify OEM systems or ECU programming. Always ensure professional installation if your vehicle is under warranty.
