Glossary and definition of parameters being logged in SView

Post by PeteJ »

Moving this post here from another area as it is more software related than hardware.

I am trying to track down some issues with a car going into limp mode but the parameter names and data logged in SView are rather cryptic. Is there a glossary somewhere that shows what the logged values are? For example I was told that bt and btmax are the ECU temperature which is not very intuitive.

Then log Limpmode and it will tell you why

I am already logging Limp mode and know what has triped.

The problem comes in when trying to troubleshoot an issue. For example what parameter is an "actual" and what is a "target". I purchased the car with the Syvecs already installed, hence why I'm asking for a glossary/definition of what the parameters are in SView. I'm not even sure if the parameters have a standard naming convention or not

Most are fairly self explanatory, so what is limp mode saying then ?

Yes, many are easy to understand but others are not. It was a lean condition due to a different issue. Regarding my request, I used that as an example.

I'm not asking for help in troubleshooting, I'm simply asking for the parameter definitions.

I did try to maintain a list here, so it may be useful: https://syvecs.wiki/basics:abbreviations
