Syvecs will not help as they have invested in their own app which I understand and if I used my car for competition I would go down that route or a hardware dash.
As Tim says the Syvecs can config is open and we can do what we like with it.
Any possibility of Real Dash support?

Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
If it transmits data over serial or CAN...what's the problem ?
Surely it's just a matter of configuring either the sent, or received setup so it will work ?
Realdash says on their website they offer a CAN protocol ?
Most of the other ecu examples transmit data via serial ?

Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
There is no specific blocking point that I can see either, but there are several approaches that could be taken and the integrity of the CANbus needs to be maintained in my case for Toucan.
I’m new to CANbus and am unsure on the best approach.
Even tapping into the existing CANbus high and low wires without damaging anything makes me nervous

Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
The CANbus standard requires the 2 CAN wires to be tolerant of short circuits and shorts to battery - so you are extremely unlikely to damage anything physically
The main thing with CAN is to understand the transmission "physics": it is a multidrop bus, which needs terminations at either end but nowhere else (ECU is one, Toucan, for example, is the other). You can have stubs off the bus to other unterminated devices which should be no longer than 30cm
Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
Could you not use the "duplicate output on RS232" option to let you do some CAN shenanigans on that output without disturbing your Toucans connection?
Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
It may work yes, I have duplicate to RS232 set, so I’m wondering if it would be possible to wire in an RS232 to Bluetooth adapter.
Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
Would it be possible to get this working through the pc interface?
I use an incar PC with SMON, but it would be nice to run a dash off it if possible!

Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
There is a windows version of Realdash so yes.
Re: Any possibility of Real Dash support?
Does anyone have the knowledge to actually make this happen? Or is it a case of requiring Syvecs to help?
Surely it's just a case of collaborating with real dash to let it know where to look for data, be it a canbus adaptor, Bluetooth, rs232 or the pc lan interface?
I'm sure there is more deep down but fundamentally that's it?
