Hi can the launch control be activated and deactivated by making and braking an earth without the need for any type of speed sensor.i ask because we launch the car on a trans brake ,so button pressed launch rpm and boost button released launch control off before the car moves.cheers in advance steve

Re: Launch control
The videos are very helpful.
Re: Launch control
Are there any set strategies for launch on Turbo charged engine's? On my EcoBoost, launch is a disaster as it holds throttle open at just 16%, when clutch is dropped the revs drop to 1300rpm, i have no boost and the car does 0-50 in about 5seconds.
How have others used it? I think I'd prefer wheel spin, but maintain as slip angle so wheel spin is maintained to just above the actual wheel speed of the front undriven wheels.

The launch is very very configurable, so it really is entirely up to the tuner what it does.Grabla66 wrote:Are there any set strategies for launch on Turbo charged engine's? Re: Launch control
^ no he uses us and the forum to get tech advice for a bespoke GDI Life Racing F88 that is locked, as it was originally paid for by Ford to run that engine
The launch control is excellent, if that is open on his ECU who knows?
That aside, a good operator can make it do anything required, just depends how much time (and money) is available to set it all up for your specific application

Re: Launch control
The software is locked, but Northampton Motorsport seem to have full access to it so everything is dependent on them.
From an end user point of view that would drive me nuts especially finding out bit by bit things need attention and as the vehicle is now so far removed/modified from what Ford supplied, it really doesnt make much sense for it to be locked down, unless the ecu itself was never installed with certain features from the outset. In which case upgrading to a fully loaded ecu would make sense although would require mapping from scratch. Although I believe he said there are Ecoboost base maps available for unlocked ecu's so even that shouldnt be too huge a task and fairly simple for Northampton Motorsport who are familiar with it all although it would mean lots of cash to buy a new unlocked ecu and have it setup

Re: Launch control
What Stevie said.
Ford EcoBoost 1.6 with Revo turbo, on life F88R GDI which is locked, and Syvecs x10
It makes 313bhp and 265ftlb
Basically we need some pointers on getting launch setup.
You can see from this video how crap it is
