S6PNP pinout.

Post by Dutch scooby lover »

Hi there, and good evening all.
I recently acquired a S6pnp for my My97/98 Impreza turbo.

Bought it through JGM.

Intend on mappinng it myself (as a step up from my PowerFC)but am having one little problem (well 2 actually)

1. I can not seem to find a pinout for the PnP anywhere, so I cannot set up the sensors in the car.
I found loads of info on the S6GP wiring, but that does not correspond to the PNP.
Does anyone have a pinout diagram, which shows on which pins the pnp actually has the An1-/16 pins fitted.

2. Does the Ej207 engine use G10 or G11 crank trigger pattern (I am guessing G10, as I found a comment regarding G11-2.5 litres) on here somewhere.

Thanks in advance

You are wellcome.

1-) Click on my working sheet
It may needs to be updated but that should help you.

2-) G10

How did you find out which AN1-16 pin goes where on the ECU connector.
Did you seperate the 2 board and use a multimeter or what??

Strange, as the comments section is empty on mine.
I can add comments there, but that is not what I think should be happening.

Possible.

Check out the working sheet i posted and you will see the S6 MY97-98 Wiring page in that file. This page is the same as comment section for MY97-98

I know what U mean, but I am not getting anywhere
I do not have any information on the Syvecs pinout, to reference to the original pins on the OEM ecu.
For example, where is AN1 output situated on the Syvecs Ecu??

Why is there no simple pinout diagram which shows where the AN1-16 (subdiveded into 4 groups, but for clarity i call them 1-16)
pins are on the Syvecs PnP.Is this really ging to be a case of unplugging the Ecu, removing it, and then using a MM to check every pin on native board, against every pin of the PNP circuit boards layout??
That way you can look up the original fuel pump pin, and then assign the coorect AN1-16 number in the software

The way it is now I could have better bought a normal S6 ,and soldered that into the cars loom, as there is at least some info on where the pins are on that.

Edit.
Removed the Syvecs, used a DMM and found out the pump output is CTL 68m this is also configured in the Map.
Also Crank and cam sensors are on the correct pins.

Why then doesn't the fuel pump prime.
It worked with the PowerFC,and still works with the stock ECU, so the car side of the wiring is functional.
Also, the software has prime tiem set to 5 seconds, so I figure it should work??

I have updated the pinouts page for the S6PnP units, have a look here for the MY97/98 pinout information :)

As for why there is no pinout information in the Cal file under the comments, I do not know. Normally all base calibrations are sent out with the wiring schedule in the comments section so that you don't end up having to use a DMM. Perhaps you could let me know where you got the calibration from ?

I would suspect that the problem may be calibration related: If you have changed the calibration version to make it work on your ECU you may have ended up with an forbidden I/O configuration. This is done as a safety precaution to force you to set the I/O config the way YOU want it rather than SCal second-guessing what you want. If you look in the I/O config pins must either be assigned or set to "NOT CONNECTED" but never "UNDEFINED".

If the fuel pump fails to prime with the S6 in then this is normally an indication that the boot code is not handing control over to the main code due to a calibration error. It will report any such errors and why it will not boot in the bottom right hand corner of the SCal window (the message area). This should give you a good idea what it is unhappy about. If you prefer you can just post the cal up and I'll have a look through it :)

Cheers,

Pat.
