VDO speed sensor

Post by Nelly »

I've just received the S6GP to control a M.Y.07 Wrx DBW engine,
will a VDO 340 020 D inductive sensor work as a speed sensor with this?
I can't use a standard sensor as the engine is mated to a porsche 911 transaxle and not in a scooby ;)
Any help will be much appreciated.

Sounds like an interesting project

You can use the Inductive sensor no problem but you will have to wire it into one of the spare Bi-Polar inputs.

Then assign the AN input used to the Vehicle speed (radar) in the I/O Config.

After that is just a case of setting it up in the sensor window

Thanks for the quick reply but unfortunatly i'm new to this and its gone straight over my head :?
I think Pat is making up my loom adapter through Mark at Lateral Performance, is this something that can be wired into the adapter before i receive it?
Or do i need to contact him directly?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Neil.

If you are having a loom adaptor made then im sure it can be modified to provide flying leads for connecting the VDO up.

Best to speak to pat about this though

Nelly,

If you want anything breaking out of the OEM plugs then let me know. I am making the loom adapter for you, and I'de rather get it right first time rather than re-wire it to suit your application, if you know what I mean. Perhaps if you want to give me a heads up on what you actually have and what you need to connect then I'll stand a fair chance of making it the way you want it :) Feel free to PM me if you don't fancy posting the details up in public...

Cheers,

Pat.
