Hi Pat
I want to use the S6GP to control the dccd on Kammy's car, Charlie has already advised that the ecu requires a firmware upgrade to enable this but what I would like to know is how the dccd is wired up to ecu.
Also is the control setup within the ecu or is it possible to also have an external switch to control the diff manually.
Cheers
Banny

Re: DCCD control
Hiya Banny!
Centre differential control was introduced in S6 Firmware version 1.13.1. This firmware should be posted shortly, but it may be superseded by 1.14.1 before then, a few new features in there, all of which needed regression testing. There is also an as yet unverified (but known to work) crank pattern addition which should please a few people
In terms of wiring you have a few options... you can use a spare IGN output low pass filtered by an external RC filter and use this to feed the control signal into the existing DCCD, replacing the thumb wheel. You could also remove the DCCD controller altogether, but due to the current the DCCD can draw it is only recommended to drive it directly on the S8 ignition outputs (30A capable), not directly from an S6. An external high current driver should be relatively simple and inexpensive though. If you want to be able to switch between ECU and manual control then using a spare IGN output is the simplest, a simple SPDT switch would allow the control signal to the OEM DCCD controller to be switched between the S6 and the thumbwheel.... the S6 strategy works quite well for drag racing already, automatically locks the diff on the line and unlocks it with increasing speed, certainly seemed to work OK on the Lateral SuperBanana
Cheers,
Pat.

Re: DCCD control
How does the S6 differantial mapping strategy will work in the future? Is it working vehicle speed vs. lock right now?Would it be possible to add latarel g sensor for cornering ability etc.. ?
I have dccd controller that I didnt installed to my car yet. I am waiting to see how S6 will gonna do that job. Though I have never mapped any differantials expect on the Richard Burns Rally game
