Hi all, apologies for a basic question, I am about to install a bluetooth module on my S6pnp, I have all the pin outs so no problem there but I was just wondering if there is a preferred location for the module, ie does it need to be as close to the ecu as possible such as under the kickplate, or can you run longer wires and position it elsewhere for a better connection perhaps?
Cheers

Re: Bluetooth module installation
Most people mount close to the ECU, any noise picked up on the serial line to the ECU would increase CRC failures and reduce the valid packet rate, the longer the run the more chance of noise.

Re: Bluetooth module installation
Can I double check that these are the right pins to connect to please
I am retaining the cal switch so won't need the map switching function so only outputs 4,5,6,7 from the BT module
BT 4 ground - could go on syvecs 44, 45, 47, 67, 68 or 70 dependant on number of existing grounds
BT 5 - syvecs 55 rs232rx
BT 6 - syvecs 56 rs232tx
BT 7 12v power - syvecs 19, 20, 21
Appreciate the help, just want to avoid unessecary fires!
Cheers
