Thanks for the replies. Ryan, you're saying to connect the + side only and leave the - side open?

Update. It's taken a lot longer to get to this point than I intended, but finally got a chance to test the wheel speed sensors today, wiring them as Ryan suggested. They work perfectly so far. Just turning the hubs by hand I had a smooth speed reading from 2 mph up to a little over 20 mph. The inputs are on AN01 through AN04 and these inputs are set as 5V. Had to play with the thresholds, but seems to work like a charm.

Updating this again along with continuing to bug Ryan and Romain via email.

We got a signal on the front sensors, but for some reason were unable to get a signal on the rear. Also, once the car was running, we would get ABS errors with the signals spliced into the S6. So we decided to install four new sensors along side the four stock sensors. We used new 2-wire VR sensors from a Ford application and wired them directly to the S6 on AN-01 thru AN-04 with the ground side shared by all four sensors on pin 7. We are now getting a constant 3v and 5v on all four channels. AN-01 (FR) and AN-03 (RL) show right at 3v at all time and AN-02 (FL) and AN-04 (RL) show 5v. Channels are configured as 5v bipolar. What puzzles me is that, even if the sensors were not properly installed and were not "seeing" the target, we should see 0v at rest.

Thoughts?

FWIW, here is an image of the sensor mounted up on the front hub. The sensor we added in the bottom of the two.

When you configure inputs as 5v bipolar they are pulled up to 2.5 volts so you will not see 0v at rest (the exact voltage will depend on the impedance of the sensor, which is why you can set appropriate thresholds). If you are seeing +5v it's because you have a break in the wires.

So the way I see it you have 2 good sensors and 2 dead sensors or broken wires.

Although 99% of ABS computers will work fine if you T into the + side of the ABS signal at ABS Ecu and then set the input to only 5v on the input selection in sensor setup with the Bipolar inputs on the S6GP. (no pull-up is applied then)

Hi Ryan

I am faced with this same situation now. Do you T the signal from the wheel sensor off before the Siemens adaptor, and send the T (infront of adaptor) to the ABS ECU, and adaptor output to engine ECU, I presume?

Thanks

Paul
