Firmware update / no run

Post by secure »

Hi

I have updated to 1.33.1 of the S6 firmware from 1.28.1 firmware. As usual I imported my old map(1.28.1) and sorted pin configurations and than reprogrammed. This time car didn't start. On my third attempt I give it %15 throttle and the engine has started and run. After a minute I off the throttle and the engine stalled. I tried again with the same scenario. It looks like the IACV is not doing the job or the calibration not offsetting. I have had no enough time so I reflashed 1.28.1 back than load the old map and it worked like a charm.

I have always updated the firmware without any problem or without any change on the calibration file. What is the problem with that? Anyone experienced the same after updating to 1.33.1? Should I recalibrate my map after the new firmware?

Might be worth looking at the logs? I notice that trips have been "recoded" so I wonder if there's something there causing a trip?

I suspect that the problem is that your existing cal was using inverted PWM drive to the TBV and since 1.33 now splits TBV into A and B, and the "best guess" at the linearisation between tbv -> Phase and tbv -> Antiphase is 0%->100% and 100%->0% respectively, it is possible that the duty control is now "backwards". There are two simple solutions :

o) Reassign the tbv pin to the "other TBV output", ie if it was A then make it B
o) Adjust the TBV linearisation so it slopes the other way, ie if it went from 0%->100% then slope it 100%->0%

Hope this helps,

Pat.
