setting up the idle control valve

Post by B13 JUS »

when im connected to the ecu where will i find the idle control valve option,
i have a evo 8 and it was idling at 2k so i removed the icv and turned ignition on to see if worked, it does work but by doing this i've been told on a evo you have to set the icv via the ecu, now its gone the opposite and wont idle at all just stalls, so i've adjusted the throttle cable to get it to idle.
so need to go into ecu and adjust it, can anyone point me in the right direction in where to go in the ecu to find it?

Get a mapper to get it all sorted in the first instance. Getting a smooth idle control will vary from car to car and it is the sort of thing that really needs to be done live on the car until it's right. From making sure the car goes into idle, that the TPS is correctly calibrated, to the stepper motor setup, all of it makes a difference.

Really I would recommend getting a basic map done buy someone that knows Syvecs, then you will be set to fine tune it yourself.
