EGT sensor

Post by Jez »

I'm going to wire up my k type thermocouple EGT sensor soon.
Just wondered how the linearisation worked - the sensor with out voltages in the mV range - and the linearisation is the usual 0-5v which is much too high /low resolution.

Does the Solaris already have a k-type curve built in, and only uses the 0-5v linearisation when using a 0-5v input?

I asked the same question a litle while ago, just select k-type in the sensor setup, there is no calibration as the probes are calibrated.

Cool, thanks Wez :)
I did search but egt is too short for the search function.

As Wes has said above but ensure that you wire the K-type sensor into Ther + and Ther -

Pat mentioned in another thread that you can wire k-type into the ther+/- inputs. I'll prob give it a go tomorrow.

Oops put unsure..... I ment ensure you use Ther + and -

I also used one of the Vems 6mm to 2mm EGT sensors jez and it works brilliant

Will edit the above

Is it possible to connect a RTD egt to the EGT inputs? If so which values need to go in the linearization? It's a AEM sensor.

I have exactly the same question :)

RTD Sensor will work but needs to go into an AR input with pull up on.

Then setup the scaling to match the aem sheet

Ryan,

The AEM RTD calibration is temperature against resistance, and the ECU requires voltage.
What's the supply current? If I have that I can set up the calibration using Ohms law.

Cheers!
