GTR World Cup - 2019

Bradenton Motorsports Park, Bradenton, FL. February 1st-2nd

Syvecs has been a long-time supporter of the R35 GTR, having first released our stand alone Plug N Play kit for the platform way back in 2011.

In that time we have been lucky enough to have been the ECU of choice for a great number of GTRs, including those that first broke into the 8’s, the 7’s and after a much fought after title, the first car into the 6’s.

The interest in the R35 race scene in the last few years has reached fever pitch and nowhere more so than in the USA. Amidst all of this excitement the “GTR World Cup” came to life, with the world cup team first organising their inaugural event back in 2017.

Now they are about to host their 3rd event next weekend, Garages/Drivers/Owners and supporters are travelling from all over the globe to attend, be it to race or just spectate.

I have some experience with organising events and I can tell you that the GTR World Cup team have created a format that appeals to pretty much all that are involved and is improving year on year.

Syvecs has also this year been lucky enough to have a number of cars sign up to compete in the different event classes using our ECU’s.

AMS Performance based in Chicago, USA have a number of cars racing under their banner next weekend.

From heavily modified to the downright insane, the cars they have built are now famous the world over.

“Outlaw Class”

“Alpha Queen” – OB Prestige Auto – Alpha Queen is the flagship AMS car at the moment, infamous now due to a certain dyno run on Youtube.

The 3300bhp car is in AMS’s words a “Really really fast front facing GTR”.

I think that may be a slight understatement.

“Unlimited Class”

The Extreme Turbo Systems Cars

Extreme Turbo Systems are based in the USA, Vancouver, Washington and have been at the forefront of the world record battle for years and have taken the title more than once.

The Extreme Turbo Systems Car

“ETS-G” and Gidi Chamdi – Gidi moved across to the team at ETS last year with the intention of doing a major overhaul on the record breaking Diamonds By Wire “Alpha G” AMS car. The first GTR to break into the 6’s in the 1/4 mile with a 6.937s / 196.27mph pass.

This was a pretty much a from the ground up overhaul, with newly designed upgraded rollcage, a new spec’d and built engine, installation of a larger turbo kit,  upgraded fuelling system and to finish the car off the blue on carbon wrap sets the car off nicely.

We expect big things from this car, hoping it’s dialled in for next weekend.
