connections

Post by firepete »

hi newbie to these ecus and expanders .

need to use i/o expander and wondered what were the best input and outputs to use

i have 10 inputs
front wheel sensor n/s
front wheel sensor o/s
rear wheel sensor n/s
rear wheel sensor o/s

paddle shift up
paddle shift down

cal 1
cal 2
cal 3
air pressure

outputs
up shift
down shift
compressor start

can 2h [pin28]
can 2l [pin29]

also i take it you use a piggy back off the 12 v [pin 34 ]for wheel sensors and ground
[ an ground ]pin 24 and control for paddles shift.
and do i use 5v output on pin 25 for cal switches.

Any of the bipolar inputs for speed.

You could simply go 1-10 in the order you have them listed.

Most hall sensors will generally ask for a 5v supply...but many will also be happy with 12v. Either way, ensure whatever sensor you are using is happy with the voltage you intend to feed it with.

Generally you should always use sensor ground for all sensors, ie pin 24. Not battery/chassis ground. Although if this was impossible...you should be fine for wheel speed sensors. But I cant see why it would be impossible to do it correctly.

i believe my wheel sensors are 12v but will check to see if they can run on 5v
