Syvecs 50Hz GPS Module

Post by caleb »

I am trying to figure out the pin out of the Syvecs 50Hz GPS module. I found the manual online, however it only gives the pin out of 6 or 7 pins. The unit has 18 pins. Where can I find the pin outs for the other 11 pins? Or are the pins listed in the manual the only ones necessary to use the module?

Only the pins in the manual are used.

Thank you! Would you happen to know why they are made with 18 pins if only 6 are used? I do not know much about this unit so I am curious.

Also, this unit has a CAN0 LOW and HI, as well as a CAN1 LOW and HI. I have read that CAN just needs 2 connections, CAN low and CAN hi, to work. Since there are 2 sets of CAN low and CAN hi here, does that mean only one pair needs to be hooked up? Or do both need to be hooked up. Thanks for the help, I truly appreciate it.

my best guess is simply to standardise on a connector they use on other products

As the manual says - CAN0 is 1Mbit/s, CAN1 is 500kbit/s, so you would use whichever suits your CAN system
