CalSelct Display on Tacho (for old pulsed tacho cars)
Like all the modern kits do with CAN bus, it would be awesome if all the old cars out there with a pulsed tacho could get calSelect displayed temporarily on the tach like the new kits.

Is the number on a rotary switch too hard to see ?
And how would you propose that worked on your tacho whilst driving ?

I don't have a rotary switch. I use factory toggle buttons in a stalk, repurposed for map selection.
The tach would temporarily display the selected map as the maps are being changed then after a short pause, return to displaying engine speed, just like a Syvecs CAN based system...

Conventional rotary switch is a lot more practical. Especially if you ever wish to make changes on the move and be sure where you change to.

There's lots of other ways I could do it, but I prefer my OEM integration and would love a display.

The module would temporarily override the tacho’s normal function when calibration mode is activated. This override would cause the needle to move to specific positions corresponding to different calibration settings or modes, giving the driver a clear visual indication on the existing tacho.amdisthebest wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 4:26 pm Like all the modern kits do with CAN bus, it would be awesome if all the old cars out there with a pulsed tacho could get calSelect displayed temporarily on the tach like the new kits.
