HI all,
Need some help wiring in the ABS sensors on a Toyota Supra. With help from Ryan I understand what I need to connect but working through this I found a possible problem.
As far as I understand , I need to connect the front left and rear left abs sensors to AB3 AND AB4 respectively. If I want to use all four ABS sensors I need two signal converters and connect these to AU1 and AU2.
Problem I have is that there is not a pin 38 in the syvecs loom adapter, and as far as I can see, has not been brought out to the 12 way expansion connector.
Wiring ABS sensors for traction control
Re: Wiring ABS sensors for traction control
Rightly or wrongly (wrongly I suspect!) when I chose which spare I/O to bring out I didn't include AB4 and chose others instead.
If it helps, I can send you a wire with an S6 terminal pre-crimped on to it, and you can insert into pin 38 and then wire to that?

Hi Tim, thanks for your help.
No need to send a terminal, I have loads of them as I have a spare S6 connector that I got with the ECU. Are they easy to remove like the Toyota ECU terminals with a very screwdriver?
What did you use to seal the terminals on the back of the S6 connector? Looks like hot melt glue. Just so I can seal it off again.
Being such a newbie at anything like this I thought I was doing something wrong or that it was being used elsewhere. I really appreciate your advice.

You need a two-pronged tool to properly extract the terminals, but you might get awat with a pair of very small jewellers screwdrivers...or, if you have a spare/scrap S6 connector, try pulling a wire and terminal out using brute force. It often works but does damaged the S6 connector.
I am more than happy to send you some wire tails if this doesn't work - just let me know.
