s8 tfsi engine jerky

Post by GLDN6 »

Hey guys
Today I started tuning my TFSI engine.
After I wanted to vote on the highway, I noticed that the engine is sporadically jerky in high gear ratios and bangs out of the exhaust.
This can also be seen at the lambda LOG (see picture)
Fuel table and ignition table fits, does not ring or somewhere is missing.

I have already exchanged spark plugs and ignition coils, but the fault is still there.

it can possibly be at the injection angle that has the problem?
or DIP Opening time?

Log I have also uploaded
in the log you can often see that the lambda jumps and the motor jerks at the same time
cheers

which I also just noticed that the ignition goes to minus, however, do not find the correction that changed the ignition value

Is your car standard and correct, as would be expected for a plug n play application to work for you ?

Ignition timing low values could be knock control or something but you are not logging anything relevant to that to see.

As for the fueling side of things...with fuelbase and fuelfinal recording zero a lot of the time...I havent a clue about that !

There must be some other important parameters to be logging with regards fuel for a DI engine.

Yes, the engine is completely original and the Syvecs are completely pnp for this engine.

the syvecs should actually record all parameters or not? or can I adjust what you want to log?

I think it is in ignition parameters but I find unfortunately nothing.
because in the picture for example, one sees that the ignition goes to minus

in the appendix still a picture

Read the manual.

Yes you need to select the logging parameters

Use Scfg to do this

Hi Denis,

I think at this stage you maybe need to take some time and really get the basics covered off before you maybe break the engine?
Like I said over TV to you and for the benefit of anyone reading this. You cant/wont have a good time with Syvecs/LR if you leap into it like you would another ECU type be it a novice or someone of experience in other systems. There is a ton of stuff you need to be on top of first up before you start ripping into it, maybe a good thing would be as Stevie said have a read in depth of the manual, it really pays off long term. There are many video's Ryan has made that are highly recommended viewing (we have all watched them!).

The systems are great, i say the best! but like I said somewhere else I am sure? don't expect to be comfortable let alone proficient, nor able to pass judgment until you have spent a couple of years full time using them cause until then you honestly wont know enough nor can you, there is just too much there and some things that may seem foreign to you now or 'annoying' will not be that way once you are smashing through key shortcuts, and slamming in files at light speed and just flat out loving how shit rarely crashes and the ECU just does what it says it will unlike the majority of crap boxes out there pretending to do the same.

Take your time mate, and if you need to enlist the help of your dealer or third party to accelerate your learning curve if you are in a hurry or impatient type :D

I was just having a look at the log, and when the lean spikes occur, the Knock logging gets triggered, although it doesn't show any cylinders being cut. However, knock control seems to be retarding the ignition.

He isnt logging anything worthwhile to tell what knock control is doing.
