I'd prefer to use two cal up/down paddle switches instad of selecting calibrations - especially boost - by touching the toucan dislay. This might be some dangerous while driving on the motorway. But i still want the active calibration to be shown at the toucan. So the toucan shall show the calibration choosen by an external trigger unit and not by itself.
Does anyone here know, wether this combination will be working ?

Preferably i'd use one input of the s6 only for telling the ecu to change calibrations. So i could wire up the up/down switches to a resistor chain, similar to the rotary cal switch. I know the ecu can detect different threshold voltages of a cal switch, but i don't find any information wether this works for an up/down trigger as well.
I'm tight in my inputs, that's why.

Yes you can do this by pulling a single input to 2.5 volts using a potential divider and using an up switch that pulls low and down switch that pulls high (bypassing each of the two resistors respectively). You want to use 2x 3.3k resistors or there abouts to ensure no load on the +5v suppliy but ensure stable enough current.

Use the switch setup above on the input which would need to be input 1-12 set as 5v, and have no connection with the Toucan, then use the toucan just to display CAL position from the CANbus.

That's great. So i'll provide the two switches now, while i'm wiring up the Syvecs, sensors and s. o.

But doing so, there's to provide a two relais circuit that locks one switch over the other and vice versa. If not done so pressing both at the same time will cause a short circuit to the supplying voltage.

The only question remaining is, how to simultaneously setup an up and down switch using one input only.
Does that mean there are two functions to be associated to one input ? I don't think so as an already associated input is no longer available for being chosen in the menu.

I realised last night that pressing both will cause that. If you add a 3rd resistor it will fix it, so that when both buttons are pressed you will still have about 3k between +5v and Sensor ground.

That would give you a rest voltage of 1.6 volts, low of 0, high of 3.3.
