Installing a custom can file
Installing a custom can file
As above have a custom can file from race tech for my dash 2 how do I install this onto the ecu?
Re: Installing a custom can file
How have they supplied it? Is it a ".SC" file intended for SCal?
Re: Installing a custom can file
Yes it is, soon as you open it up it opens in Scal
Re: Installing a custom can file
OK, they *ought* to have made everything in the file invalid, except the CAN stuff allowing you to import it...but the safe way is to open to instances of SCal. Make sure you save a backup of your CAL before you start, just in case.
In one instance have their file, in the other your calibration.
In their CAL go to Datastreams | Custom CAN then down to each of the three sections (Frame Identifier, Frame Frequency, and Frame Content) in turn. In each, go Select | All then Edit | Copy. Now go to the same place in your CAL and paste it in.
Save it, then connect to your ecu, download to your ecu (a "disk calibration") and you're done.

Re: Installing a custom can file
That's great cheers mate will do that tomoz morning and hope it all works, as at the mo I have no dash at all.
Re: Installing a custom can file
No problem - if you want to email me the two CALs I'm quite happy to do the import for you. I do it all the time for Toucan installs
Re: Installing a custom can file
As Tim said, best will be to do via two opened SCal and import individually and save your current configuration before proceeding...
