Calibration lost maybe

I got a strange problem.
Disconnected the car battery to charge it some months ago and forgot about it, now the car will not start. EDIT: the car will start. (just forgot I got to press the clutch to start it)
Connecting in SCal I get ID generic dev S6 #<myserial> etc.
When I connect I get
"Could not read flash calibration."
and "CONNECTED (not in sync)" in status.
SMsg connects but is not showing anything I can decipher.
DEVICE: S6 #<my serial>
IDENTITY: GENERIC
BOOT CODE: 1.1
MAIN CODE: 1.17.1
BOXSTATE: MainCode
LAST RESET CAUSE: 5
CODE RETURN CAUSE: 0
etc.
The calibration works fine, but it would be nice to be able to change it.
Is this something seen before?
