Errors issue S6 PnP (Subaru GC8 MY00 EUDM)

Hello,

I need some help to solve the errors mentioned below.
I already made some search to try to find solution, but without success for the moment.

I've rechecked several times my IO Pinout on the wiring and in SCal. The sensors are attached to their connector and wiring is OK from the sensor connector to engine connector. Then the OEM loom from engine connector to ECU connector is untouched.

I just want to say that I modified a GDB engine loom to fit the original GC8 loom without modification on this one.

It means the ECU is not seeing a "sensible" voltage from those sensors. It could be:

- I/O assignment incorrect
- sensor linearisation incorrect
- input type not set right (thermistor for coolant, 5V for MAP).
- sensor fault (unlikely since it's 2 sensors).

An easy quick check is to add 2 gauges in SCal for the raw volts for those inputs (ANxxV - where xx is the input number for each sensor). Then:

- unplug the coolant sensor and you should see 5V.
- short the two pins in the connector together and you should see 0V
- unplug the MAP sensor. Identify the signal wire from wiring diagrams, then short it, in turn, to the other 2 pins (0V and 5V) and check that the gauge follows.

That will point you in the right direction and/or report back.

Thanks for your time to help me.

So, I made the test and after long analyses, I finally found the faulty cooling temp. Evrything goes well when changed the cooling temp by another one.
For the MAP sensor, I finally found a damage wire. Now it's fixed !

I'm back because, what seems to be fixed is no more fixed. I don't understand because everything was untouched and now errors are back again for the MAP sensor

So, MAP sensor is plugged to AN10 which is supposed to be 5V. Pin assignment is correct

Linearisation is based on Omni data because my MAP sensor is a 4bar from Omni. I've entered the points and make linearisation to get the curve :

One of those traces suggests you've short circuited 5V to ground? Not a good idea at all if you've done that!

The trace which shows the 5V shorted to the sensor input suggests to me you have a duff sensor on the 5V that is causing it to shut down, then power up again, in a cyclical fashion.

I would unplug all sensors that run off 5V (TPS, MAP, then any sensors you've added such as oil pressure or fuel pressure). Hopefully the 5V-to-MAP input then reads a steady 5V, and you can replug sensors one by one until you find the culprit. If, however, it is still bouncing around you probably have a wiring fault on the 5V wiring.

As above, if you really have shorted the sensor ground to 5v line....you may well have caused damage within the ecu !!! A very silly thing to do.

But the simple fact you are not getting a stable signal anywhere suggests wiring problems, which may have already caused harm.

I'm 95% sure the S6 has ground-current detection on the analogue ground lines to shut down the +5V if there are problems. I don't think S6I or S6plus have this, but might be wrong.

Either way, not a safe or sensible thing to do.


To test the ecu input, if you have no external box you can apply voltages with.

You could swap the inputs for TPS to your AN10 in I/O selection and test the input actually works ok, just disable the I/O for MAP.

That isnt testing the wiring, but it would verify the 5v and AN10 aspect of the ecu is still ok

Thanks to point me in the right direction.

I think I found the problem. I had shorcut between 2 pins of the MAF connector I hacked to plug the IAT
Now, with all sensors plugged, I have no more errors and a nice and constant trace (sorry for bad picture)
