Re: solaris on subaru coil questions
The S6 has TTL level ignition outputs which are the same as most OEM ECUs these days, and is therefore incapable of driving ignition coils directly without the use of an ignitor module, you should therefore keep the existing module unless planning on rewiring the car. The TM Works coils are, from memory, 3 pin items which would have integral ignitors like the later OEM coils on the MY01- models and therefore could be driven directly from the S6 if the original ignitor is bypassed, the TTL signals fed directly into the coils, and a new ground to the coils is provisioned.
Hope this helps,
Pat.

as i am aware 2 of the pins are 12v , other is earth .
i would like to loose ignitor yes but how would these coils wire up ?
might give paul a ring where i got them from .
also can you send me that cal we spoke about over phone to my email gazza2.5@hotmail.co.uk

Re: solaris on subaru coil questions
Hi Gaz,
As Pat suggests I would convert the TM works coils back to the OEM pin connection. You may need to unsolder the wires on your coilpacks and tidy the spades so you can fit the OE connector on, or altenatively put flying connectors on the coils and use a 3 pin connector of your choice, although orignally I just earthed the earth pin onto a ring terminal and used 93-96 2 pin connectors to join the coils to the engine loom.
Hope that's not too difficult!
