any pointers as to why it doesn't fire instantly?
it seems as tho a timer is at play and after its expired it fires.
i monitored preliminary fuel injection 1 and it stays at 0 while cranking until 2 secs then it changes to set figure and bingo car fires and starts. what have i missed

I think its normal on the Syvecs - cranks more than it needs to compared to OEM.

Happy to be corrected by those who know better :)

maybe a good thing if it moves oil and you actually get pressure earlier! ?
just sounds wrong

I was once also told its down to the poor trigger pattern so its syncs correctly .
The problem is most evos use small batteries so this is a pain really .

Me and someone else are atm making a few new trigger disks to get better crank angle resolution .

I would log sync see if it gets 720 then fires ?

U can reduce valid cam signals revs for 720 sync , try 2 revolutions seams to work for me.

I am stuggling with a idle valve delay . I have found it takes a second or so to activate once started then works perfectly .

Going to have a chat with pat or paul soon as i get a chance , see if anything can be adjusted to make it better

Tried lower Cam counts no luck. But I found a better start with higher setting. Took slightly longer to fire but once it did it starts with conviction.
Strange how stock ecu has no problem with crank signal!?

The stock ECU only deals wit one crank and cam trigger pattern. The Syvecs is a universal ECU control board put on an interface board so you can plug it in to your car. As a universal ECU an OEM specific starting strategy has not be written. Instead the one that has been written will start your engine safely and will do so on every possible trigger pattern it can use.

I suspect that part of your problem is that you haven't mapped the Ecu. Unlike a a remap of an OEM ecu, here you have to get everything correct yourself.

Depends on the OEM. It will almost always need an extra turn but some poor OEM trigger pattterns need nearly 2 turns, but after than it should fire right up. You need to monitor Runmode and SyncState. It will not do anything until Runmode is at least in CRANK and will switch into RUN once the rpm is above the "Run" runmode threshold that is typically 600rpm.

If you really are a "dabbler" then you should start working on a car that is set up to run properly with a conservative tune, otherwise you will struggle like hell trying to do everything from scratch.
