hi all i'm new on here,
i've bought a evo 8 which has a syvec ecu, not 100% sure if its a s6 or s8. its a complete ecu not just the board so i presume it was s8 from the pictures i can find of both ecu's, but i'm unsure??
can it be a s6 ecu if its a complete unit not just the board?? mine has 8 switchable maps if that tells you anything?
i've downloaded the software to connect the ecu to my laptop, i had a quick look last night but i couldnt work out how to compare the maps on the ecu. there is 3 different maps 1.6bar 1.8bar and 2.1bar
do i need to have the switch inside the car in the correct position to look at that map then change it and see what the other map is?
how do i save the maps thats on the ecu to my computer?
if anyone can help that will be great.
some info require about syvec ecu
Re: some info require about syvec ecu
If connector has 70 pins it is S6, and if 88 it's S8.
Re: some info require about syvec ecu
I think if ya connector the laptop it's got either Dev S6 or S8 in the box at the top of the screen
Look at the screen shot here n you'll no wot I mean

Have a look here for a basic guide to the software suite

Re: some info require about syvec ecu
i've got this, but it does'nt tell me anything about multiple maps, if i save it as in the manual.... i take it, it will save every thing from the ecu?TimH wrote:Have a look here for a basic guide to the software suite
i would like to know how to get onto 1 of the maps to adjust it and save that map by its self?
Re: some info require about syvec ecu
The "maps" are all saved as part of the one CAL (.SC) file.
Basically there are 4 base fuel (injector timing) tables and 4 ignition tables, which are selected as wished for each of the 8 (or 12 for newer S8 firmware) calibrations. Each calibration has loads of other things that can be adjusted relative to the base tables, such as MAP target offsets etc, and/or that can be enabled/disabled on a per-CAL basis.
Best is to load up an example CAL - or your own of course - and rummage through it!
