IAT sensor

Post by BlueBugEye »

I've got a error message on the Air intake sensor voltage out error - have swapped the sensor so it appears to be a wiring issue - car is 2002 wrx sensor wired into MAF wiring (MAFless setup) before I just rewire it I want to check it's on the right wires anybody know which wires it should be connected to? Tried to have a look at a couple of cars yesterday but they'd all wired up to neatly to see the wire colours!

IIRC I tooka 5v feed from the TPS to pin 1 of the IAT sensor and wired pin 2 to the IAT signal wire on the MAF plug which is the blue one

IAT would need a ground on one pin not a +5V feed.

Apols you are quite right. I earthed the sensor to the TPS earth not 5v - been so long since I did it was getting confused with another application

No worries - and realise my answer seemed a bit abrupt, sorry!

Anyway, MAF connector has 5 pins, numbered 1 through 5, left to right, when you look at it with the "bump" on top (think that's the right way round!!)

1 - +12V (Yellow/Blue)
2 - Control Ground (Black / Green)
3 - MAF Signal (Green) (Pink/Blue on some vehicles)
4 - Air Temp Signal (Blue / White) (Brown on some vehicles)
5 - Sensor Ground (Black / Red) (Grey/Red on some vehicles)

ACT sensor is connected to pins 4 and 5.

Reason: found out that colours are different depending on model.
