Gear shift cut

Post by Jez »

I've got a dog box for my car now that will allow clutchless shifts going up the gears.

Whats the best way to configure the solaris to automatically cut power during shifts while maintaining a fully open throttle? I'm guessing I'll have to use the gear cut request input, a switch somewhere (on the gear stick?) and then configure either the gear shift or gear cut sections. Theres no notes for these sections, so any help would be cool

Need to get it setup for TOTB :)

I am also wondering about gear cut mode. Can anyone help?
Can this only can be enabled through I/O configuration inputs with on/off SW?
or can I use calibration switch?
I tried doing it with the calibration switch without any success.

The cut is pretty simple, and there's a few ways of doing it.

The main problem is that it is nearly impossible to use a separate switch on the gear stick to trigger the cut, what you need is some sort of of load sensing switch otherwise the end result will be unreliable and slow. A common use for the cut function is to use a switch on the clutch pedal to trigger a cut so you can change gear while still using the clutch, but keeping the throttle at 100%.

I'll try and do an idiots guide to the latter method, which works well with synchro boxes and can result in shifts that are not far behind a dox box clutchless shift.
