I am looking for a can bus GPS sensor with at least 20hz sample rate that I can use as an input to my S6/10 I/O expander anything out there.

Tim should have his I/O expander soon which has a GPS sensor built in ?

or Life, and hence Syvecs have their 10Hz unit

Plex Tuning will have their 50Hz unit soon too, or their GPS Dash units can transmit the data back into the Syvecs. Not 100% sure on data rate for the dash GPS though

Our expander's GPS *can* run at 50Hz by the way, but I am yet to test it: the chipset manufacturer advise that there can be a lot of noise at lower speeds resulting in some inaccuracy. But I hope to "program" around it

Interesting to see that Life have finally updated their very old GPS unit. Any idea of price?

As an aside, I have final prototype of the expander on the bench for testing, and it should be available for sale from Feb 2016.

Sorry to jump on topic but didn't want to start up another on the same subject.
Iam wanting to get a gps unit for my drag civic but don't have a clue what I need to buy any help would be great!
Iam wanting to get a good speed signal from the gps to log and use the data.
Can I set most stuff in the syvecs to use speed from gps? As at the moment when my wheels spin on strip speed goes up and it's not accurate!
Could I also setup my gear select by gps? As at the moment I don't have any gear select set so can't run boost by gear.
What is the difference in the hz?
Also iam interested in the ones Timh talks about but can't find any on site yet!

Not released yet, sorry! Working on the pre-production prototypes to make sure all is OK. Will post here when production quantities are available

Hook up your speed to a rear wheel then, it should be reliable.

Vehicle speed can be taken from GPS if you want. Not 100% sure I'd always want gps speed for control though, although I guess for drag purposes it would be fine as there shouldnt be any scenery etc to impede the signal.

You can run boost by gear via wheel speed and rpm.

Driven speed would be best as that is clearly linked to rpm and ratios wont get mixed up. If you used undriven it might think you're in a wrong gear if you had a very high rpm ( ie wheelspin ) and low speed.

Hopefully Syvecs will release boost control based on speed alone which would be a better option. I have asked, it is what many drag racers in the US prefer, especially street racing as it's easy to dial in power that way.
Boost by gear is just not as good or easy.

Still need a couple of months to get this sorted.

25Hz will be fine - it's the 50Hz I'm still reserving judgement on.

Unit has:

- 4 speed-capable sensor inputs
- triple axis accelerometer
- triple axis G sensor
- EGT amp
- Bosch LSU 4.9 interface
- GPS
- H bridge driver

£2k for the LR GPS? WTF!!! This unit is £450+VAT lol
