User Guides on our website:

https://jti.uk.com/user-guides/

Also be aware of Toucan firmware version issues relating to the S6 (https://jti.uk.com/software-and-firmware/) if you are using RS232 - you need to use firmware older than V1.90

Usually, if you follow the User Guide to set up the datastream, it will "just work".

Obviously worth a try - technically it should be ON but if S6 and Toucan are the only devices on the bus it usually works.

Without more details it's rather difficult to advise - for example: new or second hand Toucan; has it ever worked; attach your CAL and I can check that it really is set up OK; second hand S6...possibly one of the 500 that didn't have CANbus, so have you tried RS232; what Toucan firmware version. And things like that.

That version (although not what new units ship with) is known to work OK.

Various possibilities:

- faulty/damaged cable
- mismatch between Toucan CAN datarate and S6 settings
- S6 datastream not set right (attach your cal file here or send it to us direct)
- Toucan cable plugged into Ethernet connector instead of comms connector
- if S6 PnP have seen problems with comms connector not soldered in very well or shorting on ecu case.
- Being S6 it is obviously an old unit; could be faulty perhaps?

So if the comms socket if damaged how would i find out ?
The cable is brand new so that is under warranty.
Failing all this i,ll return the toucan to jt.
Can the comms cable be hard wired in ?

All plugs in correct place.
Did a constituency test on ecu plug from toucan and all ok so cant be the loom.
Maybe the comms plug like you say tim.can this be repaired or hard wired ?

Thanks
