what kind of ecu to use

Post by Bjornlaenen »

Hi folks,

I was wondering whats the best type of syvecs ecu to use for my eg33 tt build.

Car is a 1999 Subaru gc8 with 2.0 sti engine.

Was thinking of the s8.

think i also need a wire in because there is no pnp for this engine.

Thx for the respons!

The S8 will most certainly do anything you need it to do.

But as always. Sit down, make a list of what you want from an ecu, what you need it to do or control for you and your car and then you can make an easier decision as to which ecu model will do.
But the S8 is extremely capable, has excellent logging and features etc so really is hard to beat. And the Syvecs range in general have safety features for engine protection that are the best in the business.

Always factor in support...local where possible. But Syvecs and Subaru have been used many many times together and with very good success.

And Yes, the S8 is only sold as a wire in model so you would either need to wire it up yourself, make an adapter or have someone make a wiring loom etc for you.

Support these days (quality) is much more important than location proximity.
I for example set up cars on other side of world, done many of them (finished R34 GTR at 4am this morning my time).

The dealer network on Syvecs is second to no one, you wont get a better featured ECU that actually does what it says on paper, nor will you find more capable people to set them up.

Just buy the S8 and sleep easy, will be the best component you can fit to your car mate ;)

That was also my thougts, that the S8 was the gadget for the job.

Here in Belgium the support is crying, and nobody has experience with the eg33 conversion.
I know the correct people in the Uk, so everything is gonna be fine.

Thx for the quick anwering!
nice weekend
