Just sorting the pinouts for the MR and could you possibaly help with the pinouts for the cat5 wiring. Totally forget how we did it on the supra

Here is a diagram on the cat5 pins to help explain which pins on the s6 go to which pins on the RJ45 connector

Standard Ethernet wiring is :

Pin 1 - Transmit + - Goes to Receive + on Solaris
Pin 2 - Transmit - - Goes to Receive - on Solaris
Pin 3 - Receive + - Goes to Transmit + on Solaris
Pin 6 - Receive - - Goes to Transmit - on Solaris

In effect you're making a crossover cable to be able to plug straight into a PC.

Don't forget that you needs pairs on 1&2 and 3&6 !

Hope this helps,

Pat.

Edit : Typo (Pin 6 read Pin 4 previously)

Not wishing to sound stupid Pat but you listed Pins 1 to 4 above and said use pins 1&2 and 3&6 or am I missing something.

Should 3&4 be 3&6?

Yes. Typo. My bad! I will edit the above so that others that look don't end up wiring it wrong.

Cheers,

Pat.
