Re: ALS, Gear Cut/Blip, Launch Control

Thanks Andrea for the link. After looking around on the web longer I often see this type of vacuum pump metioned which is made by Hella. Looks a proper bit of kit and I think I will order one to have a play with.

Cheers,

Jasper.

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?

Hi Mark, You are best off choosing Schottky diodes of the MBR range or SB range. Something along the lines of 5A, 60V is plenty beefy for what you want. You can buy SB560 diodes for example from Farnell, Digikey, RS, etc. You could perhaps suffice with 40V devices which have a lower Forward Vdrop bu...

Re: ALS, Gear Cut/Blip, Launch Control

Hi Mark,

It seems the maximum of 30* ATDC is a limit which cannot be adjusted. I suspect it is a limitation in the firmware to prevent people from setting silly ATDC angles and turning their engine into a chunk of useless aluminium.

Cheers,

Jasper.

Re: ALS, Gear Cut/Blip, Launch Control

Hi Mark, I am running LOTS of retard. I have around 60* of retard in the map at 2500 rpm and higher and go back to 30* at 2000 rpm and 0* at 1500 rpm and lower. I found after looking at the logs that the Syvecs seems to CAP Ignition FINAL timing at 30* ATDC. This is the maximum retard value which ca...

Re: ALS, Gear Cut/Blip, Launch Control

Hi Mark, All has been sorted already but thanks for the background information. LC, ALS and Gear Cut all work a charm! I am still trying to get the Gear Blip to work and it should be OK but the largest challenge is how to get the ECU to have a proper disctinction between Gear Cut and Gear Blip. I am...

ALS, Gear Cut/Blip, Launch Control

Hi there, I have finally come around to start doing some more testing with several features. I have started with Launch Control. At first there was no Clutch switch signal so I told the ECU the clutch was active LOW just to get it to go into LC mode and do some tests. After I wired in the Clutch sig...

Re: 4 port boost control solenoids

Hi Chris, I have never seen a 4-port solenoid. Care to post a link so I can have a look. What I do know is that there are 2-port Actuators for Internally wastegated turbos. That way you can use a 3-port boost solenoid and setup the wastegate plumbing like a External Wastegate. However you will have ...

Re: Rotary switches for calibration changes, type question

It can't be work with 10k pullup. I try 330ohm pullup to 5V and this is not good (with 6x 1N4148). Syvecs people wakeup! What is this diode circuit and it's pullup? And... can You tell what is goin wrong with resistors? Jalai, You shouldn't add an external pull-up. You should use the Resistive Inpu...

Re: Rotary switches for calibration changes, type question

Tim, I think it's better to use diodes instead of resistors for the simple fact that the body drop on a diode is ALWAYS 0.6~0.7V provided the voltage of the source, in this case a pull-up 5V source, is sufficient to drive all the diodes into conduction. If you would use resistors then the voltage dr...

NTK L2H2 New Linearisation

All, After having seriously large differences with my other wideband kits it turns out that the newer NTK sensors from Syvecs (Charlie) need a new calibration. Thanks go out to Ryan G @ Syvecs for spending time with a test tube and calibrated gas to setup a new linearisation. I have tested it vs. ot...
