Re: Best way to "cut" revs for idle with throttle jacked open?

Hi Jasper,

Perhaps I wasn't completely clear. But I don't mean the control of RPM with ALS on, but with ALS off! With ALS on the ignition retard will drop RPM, but if I jack the throttle open for good ALS the revs go through the roof with "normal" ignition timing...

Cheers,

Mark.

Best way to "cut" revs for idle with throttle jacked open?

As topic title. We need jacked open throttle for decent ALS, but idle is too high. (of course) Is there a decent way to introduce some sort of rev-limit for idle?

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

Appologies accepted. But in this case you need to estimate! How will you measure the charge temp in the cilinders? (this is what really matters) Benku: The next car I do, I will fit the IAT sensor very near to the inlet port in the head. That should give more "accurate" results as you sugg...

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

To avoid massive discussions, this can be done in stead of the Autronic solution: 3D table for Fuel AIT correction. One axis is AIT and the other axis is TP (or MAP). This is more easy to setup and works O.K.

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

It works PERFECTLY well if you set it up right!!! I don't see why it should give a problem with high boost engines, as from anything above idle and slowly driving with low airflow (up to around 800 Mbar absolute and around 4000 RPM) there shouldn't be any difference with the Syvecs. (when set up pro...

Re: Syvecs an later (CAN) Subaru's

So, I could give it a try? Is there a possibility to "record" the CAN communication in the stock vehicle to look what is happening to be able to predict what is needed when using the Syvecs ECU? Was the Impreza Hatchback "happy" with the CAN solution you used? How did you test wh...

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

Moving the AIT sensor close to the inlet port in the cylinder head will help, but the Autronic solution works really well even with the sensor placed a bit further from the head(s).

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

My ACT sensor is placed in the throttle body, even at very small throttle opening the air speed over the sensor is high and it measures perfectly the temperature of the air which enters the inlet manifold. This is as far "downstream" I can measure ACT properly. But I think you don't unders...

Re: More accurate charge temp estimation (like Autronic)

There is a table (of course) for AIT correction on fueling in the Syvecs. But as I have written above, a table like the Autronic would help at low load/RPM to have more stable AFR. At full load there is no need for such table.

Syvecs an later (CAN) Subaru's

Is there a possibility to use a Syvecs ECU (wire in is no problem) in for example a MY06 Legacy Spec-B, without having problems with other systems relying on CAN communication with the engine ECU? (I never investigated what information is spread over the engine ECU CAN to/from other ECU's) My plan i...
