Proceed with those changes i recommended - of course, the air temp table needs to be correctly defined.
You said that engine is 'leaning out' - which means, that actual engine drawn air temperature, is lower than measured and/or air temp correction table is wrongly defined.

Yes i know 'that phenomen' from some daily drivers, where inlet manifold temp raises through convection. Consider repositioning air temp sensor, to the plenum near cylinder runner/inlet track opening. Inlet manifold thermal barrier coating/painting and plating (ie. polymer plate under inlet gasket) ...

Looks mighty fine! But do not start it until you have a proper crankshaft dampener, either new stock unit or ATI one. With the wheel in first pic you will end up with broken crank. Been there done that :) really? if these things are not better then why do they sell them? is it a common 1jz problem?...

Neither at low load, that's my experience with this ecu. AFR/lambda stays nicely at defined value. At least, i had no difficulties mapping despite of largely varying air temp (-20 deg c to 55 deg c), ecu follows nicely. You wrote... "After mapping the fueling nicely to the desired value at low ...

Surely one can employ an tension/compression load cell, to most H-pattern boxes. Easiest thing to mount on, one of the FWD car gear change link rod. For the RWD cars, there is bending type load cells available, mounting to the gearstick. Instrumentation is always more bombproof, than pattern logic, ...

There is table (and possibility to use temp sensor for the purpose) for charge air temperature, which - in my opinion, covers this perfectly well. I think that each sensor needs to calibrate individually. All sensors has 'somewhat different' linearization curve and/or slope, when resistor value differs among other.

Yeah, maybe so... but none of these sensors, do not contain such a high valued (10K or so) calibration resistors. Bosch is using 30-300 ohms range (from memory), NTK range is 'somewhat unknown', but i have measured values from around 260 to 607 ohms. Here is one NTK L2H2 type pinout, with Bosch conn...
