Re: Cruise Control Overshoot / Undershoot

S7/S8/S12 Nice update for Cruise has just been released which allows Cruise Control Speed Nudging like a OEM Car. WIll be coming for S6 later in the month as that is a different firmware tree. Example Cal of New Cruise updates here which you can look at and even copy some of the values Thanks Ryan,...

Re: Cruise Control Overshoot / Undershoot

Hi MiSTI, Not logged what the ECU is doing, hadn't thought to do that, was just planning to play with the numbers till I got the cruise accurate. Now you have suggested it, I will set the parameters to log to see what it tells me. Part of the reason for wanting to sort cruise is I would also like to...

Cruise Control Overshoot / Undershoot

We have a number of average speed cameras in my part of the world. Best way to keep your license is to sit at the speed limit and use of cruise control. I find that the speed overshoots then undershoots on cruise. In SCal there is a Pedal Proportional Correction and a Pedal Target Integral gain. I h...

Re: S6GP Main Connector Crimpers

The AMP pins are the same as the Motec MXXX ECU's

I bought mine many years ago, think they were Tyco Electronics Amp 58495-1 Pro-Crimpers fitted with 58495 jaws.

Re: ecu issues

The forum members could help you much more if you posted up logs from your ECU, logs would provide a hundred times more information than a video. I have seen issues with the comms wiring to the ECU, the wires are very thin and not as easy to terminate, so worthy of a check. The only other issue I ha...

Re: Controlling fuel pumps with solid state relay pwm

I noticed the syvecs manual shows a flyback diode, are these necessary or not? Graeme Graeme, from what I understand, when the SSR switches off the current to the fuel pump, the pump continues to rotate and becomes a generator which creates a sudden voltage spike. The current flows in the opposite ...

Re: Fuel pump PWM strategy

MReilly, Some interesting points you make about the way that the FPR will deadhead, then open, I guess it would be possible to log this action by reducing the PWM below the FPR cracking pressure and see how it reacts as the pump duty and pressure increases to verify what that looks like, might be a ...

Re: Fuel pump PWM strategy

I have had the second pump triggered at 30% and the third pump triggered at 55% for the last couple of years, so this is not a new part of the fuel system. The numbers in the Fuel Pump Pressure Integral Duty Adder map were a first guess and the video was the first pull, so was pretty close. Will inc...

Re: Fuel pump PWM strategy

Thanks Stevie, Agree it is a waste of outputs to separately drive each fuel pump. I wasn't really sure how well the SSR would work, but wanted to see how controlled the fuel pressure would be. I tried using the Fuel Pump Pressure Integral Duty Adder map today, with the other maps set to zero to see ...

Fuel pump PWM strategy

I wanted to design a fuel system up so that I could PWM the primary pump to hold a relative fuel pressure of 3000mbar, hoping to reduce the fuel temperature and also to assist with holding the fuel pressure steady to help with mapping accuracy on fuel control. Once the system is fully functioning, t...
