Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
Thanks Paul - all makes sense, and will make sure I do things the "usual" way from now

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
But you can choose which edge the Syvecs triggers on so shouldn't matter really?

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
Related to this...the 2-pin AVCS cam sensors are VR types I believe? Does it matter which pin gets grounded back at the ecu? I'm assuming not since it is simply a pickup coil output?
And if it does matter (why?) which pin is the signal?

Re: IAT sensor
No worries - and realise my answer seemed a bit abrupt, sorry! Anyway, MAF connector has 5 pins, numbered 1 through 5, left to right, when you look at it with the "bump" on top (think that's the right way round!!) 1 - +12V (Yellow/Blue) 2 - Control Ground (Black / Green) 3 - MAF Signal (Gr...

Re: IAT sensor
IAT would need a ground on one pin not a +5V feed.

Re: Pressure and temp sensors, with cables, available
FYI have also added 3 bar MAP sensors and Bosch knock sensors to the website

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
Thanks Pat - I sometimes have a tendency to over-analyse and over-complicate things in my mind

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
Pat,
No, I know they're there for flyback/snubbing, so they won't be dissipating anything of note while the PWM output is being driven - as you know it is when the PWM output turns off that we need to clamp the back EMF: which is more complex to calculate than steady state dissipation.
Cheers,
Tim.

Re: How to wire AVCS actuator?
What sort of power dissipation is there in the flyback diodes? Wondering whether they can simply be soldered inline with the +12V wire, with heatshrink over them, or if that's going to be a problem?
