Re: Bosch 2-wire TBV settings

Because an idle valve is a proportional device. The diode stops the back EMF, (I think) the back EMF from the collapse the magnetic field will effect the field being reestablished during the next pulse, so you're average field strength is reduced. What we want is a more of an averaged constant curre...

Re: Bosch 2-wire TBV settings

I used 300hz on a 2wire valve, it absolutely needs a flyback diode to work properly. My PWM output looks like this:

Re: Launch Control Settings

Not really Tim. In this case we are just using the vehicle speed as a stationary/moving status flag. If the GPS speed were 100% reliably then we could perhaps start to do some better things with it, as it becomes a "5th wheel" speed which can can peg RPM against. If you switch from a timer to an spe...

Re: Launch Control Settings

Hi John, It's good to see you're taking in an interest in your setup again! The reason your activation speed is set so low is to try and overcome the delay the occurs due to the speed converter fitted on your car. When we initially set it up at Combe in 2014 that was causing a problem with prompt ac...

Re: Cam raw not changing

Cam phase comes from the exhaust cam and will be static on single MIVEC evo head.

You want to look at VVT1inRaw which is what you should use for fine tuning latch angles for the VVT.

Re: Downshift Gear Cut

You may actually require a cut for a downshift, if you are under power! Later firmware versions have this option, and it works well. I would advise thought that full gearbox control is not something for beginners to set up. A few questions: This is an S8 right? And it is an S8 with full gear control...

Re: 99-00 s6pnp power supply

Very likely to be an alarm issue, badly wired alarms route all the power through the alarm and it's not man enough for the job. Check slow blow fuses too, and earthing of engine to battery, and engine loom to engine (the ECU earths through the engine loom onto the inlet manifold.

Re: FP-Limp at 1.5 bar / 6000rpm

Putting a hole in the ignition map is not the way to prevent stalling on syvecs, since the idle strategy has a proportional ignition correction for idle error, and a general idle ignition compensation to reduce the advance when in idle (which is temperature and run time depenedant). So removing the ...
