Re: MOTEC PDM

PDM15 receives CAN data ok from S6 so I believe S8 will do the same with PDM30. S6 / S8 CAN data output is configurable in SCal in Datastreams / Custom Can. I usually use rpm data to activate fuel pump(s), and water temp data to activate rad fans, and so on. Pump priming is done with PDM "pulse...

Re: Just basic wiring help!

If it has four pin connector and if it is eg. VAG #032905106B or -E or Bosch 0986221048 then it indeed has internal amps. Pin 1 = signal 1 in, pin 2 = +12V, pin 3 = signal 2 in, and pin 4 = engine gnd to cylinder head or block. I have used these dwell times: 8,0V - 5,0msec, 10,0V = 4,0msec, 14,0V = ...

Re: Syvecs Boost Solenoid Plumbing Info

...use them almost exclusively now... I've used MAC three port valves for years now, and they deliver. Most boosted engines I have done are between 1,5bar to 3,0bar of boost and I think many engines here in this forum fall in this category. In the past I was disappointed on Pierburg valves and esse...

Re: MR2 - S6 – single coil conversion

Might be that you need to remove some zener diodes from tacho pc board. Some versions of MR2 used coil negative wire suppressed by zeners to tacho signal. Oem wire from engine bay to instrument cluster is usable, but small jumper wire is necessary here. :)

Re: S8 on R34 gtr issue

...and it then read every tooth perfectly... ...what is the 800ohm pull-up thing... If you have found a sweet spot that works ok, then go with it. Pull-up resistor idea is to pull signal up to voltage it is attached, and sensor then grounds it when it senses tooth. If pull-up is too weak then the s...

Re: S8 on R34 gtr issue

3,0mm / 10,0mm teeth / teeth-spacing just work. Reading specs and doing things succesfully are different things.

Don't use 5 volt supply. 8 volt and up is ok.

8 volt with 800ohm pull-up is good, and 12 volt with 1000ohm pull-up is good, too.

Re: S8 on R34 gtr issue

Genuine Honeywell 1GT101 is good to 15kHz. Beware of cheap copies, beentheredonethat ;) 10 000 rpm = 166,666 revolutions per second. 166,666 x 36teeth = 6000 events per second = 6kHz. (166,666 x 60teeth = 10kHz) Well below limit, and I'd say safely because limit is more than twice. Must note that wi...

Re: ballast resistors

I thought that S8 can control low impedance injectors without any extra resistors. The pinout pdf says 10A Open Collector output.

Re: PDU10 Syvecs reincarnation ?

It would be great if Motec PDM config file is provided. It should be one that has can input configured to receive for example coolant temp engine rpm, the rest is easy. S6 can output should be configured like AIM provides a setup info pdf for Life F88 so that AIM Strada can receive can info properly...

Re: PDU10 Syvecs reincarnation ?

Have You done a Syvecs S6GP/Motec PDM15 combination using can bus to transfer informaton from ecu to PDM in the real world? Any example files for can setup on both ends?
